Hair styles.?

I need to re-style my hair. It's quite short, but extreamly thin. I want it to grow so I can do differen't styles, but as it's quite short I can't do much. Any ideas of what to do with it ? Or maybe a punky sorta style, for when it's longer. I'm not talking really spikey, but i think you know what I mean.Hair styles.?

If it is longer, I would get a lot of piecey layers, and then use a lot of wax and hair spray for a scene type look.Hair styles.?
